Understand opioid recovery, debunk myths, and get Narcan training.
Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including methadone and buprenorphine, are considered the “gold standard” of care for treating opioid use disorder. Yet, despite their effectiveness, these life-saving treatments are still surrounded by stigma.
In this session, we’ll explore how MOUD supports recovery, debunk common myths, and discuss why abstinence isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.
As someone who works closely with individuals affected by opioid use, I’ll also be offering a brief Narcan (naloxone) training during this session. Narcan is a safe, easy-to-use medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and save a life. Whether you're a healthcare provider, a loved one, or simply someone who wants to be prepared, this training will give you the tools and confidence to respond in a crisis.
