Youth Programing (2nd Floor)Love reading? Come hang and read with us!
The Library's Silent Book Club is a space for kids to come together, read silently in a comfortable area, have some snacks, and just enjoy books! We might talk about what we have read, do a craft, or watch a video. This weekly club is on a drop-in basis. You can bring your own book or choose a book from the cart Librarian Erin will bring in every day.
We only have 2 rules:
- You must be silent when we are reading! This doesn't mean you have to be still - as long as we are able to keep the room with minimum distractions, if moving while reading feels good to you, that is fine!
- Any adult that is accompanying their child for this program is welcome to stay... but you also must read! No phone scrolling, working, etc. Reading in front of your child is a great way to model reading as a pleasure, not a punishment.
This program is intended for elementary and middle-school aged children. This is not a "learn to read" program.
