Learn the basics of 3D printing.
This event is suitable for ages 10+.
This 90 min discussion will focus on the processes and tools that you will need to make safe and effective use of the 3D printers available at your Deschutes Public Library Makerspace(s). We will collaboratively explore the 3D printing workflow, software tools you will use, and considerations to be aware of. Bring your questions and enthusiasm!
About the Instructor:
Bruce Emerson has always aspired to keep learning new things about the world every day. New skills, new ideas, new experiences. Physics provided a vehicle for feeding his curiosity through the years. Bruce recently retired from teaching at COCC where he taught physics and engineering and other topics for 30 years. Alongside the physics, he plays trombone with a number of regional groups, gardens, makes things, supports his partner Dawn in her art making, and volunteers in the Deschutes Public Library MakerSpace in Redmond. He is a committed open source and open education evangelist and believes that learning is both personal and, at the same time, fundamentally collaborative.
