Inside you there are four writers, according to writer and educator Betsy Flowers: one creates, one designs, one constructs, and one serves as project inspector—and a great manuscript needs them all, just not at the same time. Writing is re-writing, and also re-visioning and fine tuning. Join Mike and Irene Cooper for tips and talk on how to go from finished rough draft to literary diamond while keeping it fresh and keeping your wits.
About the Presenters: Mike and Irene teach writing at OSU Cascades and COCC. Irene has published poetry, nonfiction, and two novels (Found and Committal). Mike has written two novels (unpublished) and is the president of the Central Oregon Writers Guild. They Facilitate The Forge 10-Month Online Writing Program with Ellen Santasiero.
Central Oregon Writers Guild's mission is to provide Central Oregon area writers a forum for mutual support and education through meetings, annual events and workshops. Our goal is to advance growth and success for individual writers of all genres and skill levels. Founded in 2002, the Guild is a non-profit organization, run entirely by volunteers.
Guild meetings take place on a monthly basis, where we feature guest speakers, panels, member readers and small group interaction, with topics of interest to writers at all skill levels. Meetings are free and open to the public.
