Community RoomRead Rebellion 1776 and do a period related craft.
In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, join us for a book discussion and related activity. This event is for middle school school aged youth.
Rebellion 1776 by Laurie Halse Anderson explores what it would be like to be a 13-year-old just trying to survive during one of the most important events in US history. Throw a civil war on top of a small pox epidemic and it's all Elspeth can do to keep herself safe. Could you survive?
We'll also try our hand at punching tin with tools from the MakerSpace, and explore snacks that Eslpeth might've eaten during the Revolutionary War.
The creation of this country took all of US. We celebrate, support, and uplift every member of our community who enjoys the freedoms outlined by the Declaration on Independence and lives in a world working towards a more perfect union for all of US.
This book and program are intended for ages 10-14.
