An afternoon of joy and community through singing together.
For "shower singers" and seasoned musicians alike, we'll explore the benefits of singing together using songs from the golden era of recorded music (1950s-1970s) as well as accessible rounds and layer songs that entice us with sweet harmony. A cathartic, expressive endeavor, ideally all participants will leave feeling inspired, elated and more connected to a handful of neighbors. No singing experience required!
Ian Carrick
Local musician, teacher, and songleader Ian Carrick has been helping Central Oregonians sing together since 2016 when he founded Open Hub Singing, a community dedicated to the idea that singing with others is a human birthright (yes, for you, too) and a vital 'technology of belonging.' This particular event will draw on Ian's experiences leading sing-along events at retirement homes, singing classic songs (Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Patsy Cline... etc.).
