Drake Park
777 NW Riverside Blvd, Bend, OR 97701Enjoy a slow-paced, screen free, birding walk with Queer as Flock!
Join the Deschutes Public Library and Queer as Flock for a birding walk around Drake Park. This will be an accessible slow-paced walk along the paved paths of Drake Park in downtown Bend. We will look and admire the fun duck varieties that come down for the fall/wintertime. No knowledge is required we are happy to help with identifying and providing knowledge around what we see. We encourage people sharing knowledge they might have as well around plants, bugs, weather, etc. as our walks are aimed at community education for everyone. Binoculars will be provided. Dress for the weather.

Queer as Flock is a queer community group that aims to get individuals involved in the natural beauty central Oregon has to offer. We offer weekly walks across Central Oregon where we get out and identify the birds in our areas. We aim to be inclusive to everyone and are always excited about getting people in birding, bugs, plants, or butterflies! This is a space where no knowledge is required and we can all learn together in a safe and supportive space.

About the Instructor:
Kay is a mental health therapist by day and bird enthusiast when not working. They started Queer as Flock after attending a pride walk hosted by their friend Bo who runs BirdHers out in Portland. They knew they wanted to create a community space like that where weekly walks were offered around the Central Oregon area. Queer as Flock aims to get people interested and aware of the abundant natural life all around us.
