All of us believe lots of things that aren't true, and most of us don't even realize it so we can't correct ourselves. The result is a global, wide-ranging, conflicting, and contradictory flood of misinformation that drives bad decision making at every level. Learn how to shut out the misinformation society screams into our ears. We can all build a better life, a better business, and make better choices with data driven policy.
About the presenter:
Brian Dunning is the host and producer of the Skeptoid podcast (skeptoid.com), now celebrating its 20th year as one of the longest running and consistently most popular independent science podcasts. He is also the writer and producer of the documentary films The UFO Movie THEY Don't Want You to See (2023), Science Friction (2022), and Principles of Curiosity (2017). He has appeared on numerous radio shows and television documentaries, and is the author of seven books such as Conspiracies Declassified (Simon & Schuster, 2018). Formerly a computer scientist, Brian now produces multi-media content to promote science literacy and critical thinking. He is a member of the Association of Science Communicators and lives in central Oregon.
