Basic civic literacy information for new voters.

A healthy democracy depends on people knowing how their government operates and where to find reliable, fact?based information about elections. This program for first-time voters will cover basic information like:

• What is civic literacy and why is it important?
• How to access trustworthy information during elections. 
  • How to verify that the information you do find is true. 
• How voting works in Oregon, including:
  • What a ballot looks like and how to fill it out properly. 
  • What a Voters' Pamphlet is and how to fact-check the information presented in one. 

There will be time at the end for questions and information about how to register to vote if you have not done so already.
