Community 1How a properly fitted bicycle improves your riding enjoyment and safety.
This event is intended for teens as well as an adult audience.
A properly fitted bicycle is one of the most effective ways to improve both safety and enjoyment while riding. In this presentation, you'll learn how bike fit influences balance, stability, braking control, visibility, and confidence in a wide variety of riding conditions. We'll discuss how improper saddle height, handlebar reach, cockpit setup, cleat position, and crank arm length can contribute to discomfort, fatigue, poor bike handling, and overuse injuries that may increase the risk of crashes. You'll also learn how your riding position affects your ability to look ahead, react quickly, and maintain control in emergency situations.
The presentation also explores the principles of professional bike fitting and how small adjustments can produce significant improvements in comfort, efficiency, and safety. Through real-world examples, you'll discover common bike fit mistakes, simple self-checks you can perform at home, and when it's appropriate to seek a professional bike fitting. Whether you're a recreational rider, commuter, fitness cyclist, or experienced enthusiast, you'll leave with practical knowledge and actionable strategies to help you ride more comfortably, reduce injury risk, and stay safer every time you get on your bike.
