Learn to Play American Mahjong!

Registration required. This event is intended for adults. 

Ready to learn the game everyone is talking about? Join Kiley for a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to American Mahjong! Whether you've never touched a tile before or need a refresher, this class will teach you everything you need to confidently sit down and play.  During this hands-on class, you'll learn: 

• The basics of American Mahjong
• How to read and use the current NMJL card 
• Tile identification and game setup 
• The Charleston and passing process 
• Calling tiles, using jokers, and game etiquette
• Winning hands and scoring fundamentals
• Tips and strategies for beginner players  

All supplies are provided, including boutique mahjong tiles, racks, mats, and playing cards. You'll have plenty of opportunities to practice as we play together in a relaxed and supportive environment.  By the end of class, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to join a mahjong game and continue building your skills!

About the Instructor:

Kiley is a Mahjong instructor and the owner of Three Sisters Mahjong, bringing the joy of American Mahjong to women throughout Central Oregon. A Central Oregon native and proud mom of three, she holds a Marketing degree from Brigham Young University and loves creating community through connection, learning, and a good game of Mahjong.
