Enjoy live music with a saxophone quartet!
Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors will open at 3:30pm.
The High Desert Saxophone Quartet is comprised of musicians from the Cascade Symphonic Winds, a wind orchestra sponsored by Central Oregon Community College. The members are: Stephen Heuser on soprano saxophone, Corey Burns on alto saxophone, Malia Larson on tenor saxophone and Finley Smith on baritone saxophone. They will present a program of classical transcriptions and music from the Great American Songbook. J.S. Bach's “Fugue in G minor,” David Whitacre's “October,” Rudy Wiedoeft's “Valse Erica,” and a few traditional songs like “Shenandoah” and “Ashoken Farewell” with original compositions by Stephen Heuser. The saxophone has long been associated with blues and jazz, and The High Desert Saxophone Quartet hopes to introduce you to another side and sound of this versatile instrument.
