In this year's Youth A Novel Idea Edition, The Queen of Ocean Parkway, Roya visits Coney Island to solve the mysterious disappearance of her neighbor, Katya. During this class at Arome, you and your kid(s) will get the Coney Island experience just like Roya! We will be making prepared mustard from scratch to create classic Coney Island hot dogs, which are topped with homemade chili, yellow mustard, and onion. Kids will help to make the mustard and hot dogs and chopping their onion toppings. After completing the hot dog preparation, all participants will be welcome to build their own Coney Island hot dogs to enjoy at a seating area in the store. All kids will go home with a small jar of the mustard made during class and a recipe sheet.

The 2025 Novel Idea Youth Edition, The Queen of Ocean Parkway, tells the story of eleven-year-old Roya, the superintendent’s kid of a regal Brooklyn apartment building. An aspiring reporter, she knows just about everything about the building’s residents. It’s a good distraction from the problems in her own life. But when Katya Petrov, one of her favorite tenants, goes missing, it’s up to Roya and a new friend to make her own headlines as she searches for Katya and attempts to break the Petrov curse once and for all.
