Get creative in community with the Open Arts Center Crew.
Registration required. This workshop is intended for ages 13-17.
When you enter through the doors of the Open Arts Center, you will be a member of our community. This is a place where your voice, needs, and creative dreams matter. This workshop is designed to introduce teens to the Open Arts Center and ask them to reflect on what creativity and community means to them. Beginning with some writing prompts and culminating in mixed media collage, participants will think about, discuss, and express their visions for how the OAC can best support their creative visions and become a hub for teen community in Bend.
-----
The Open Arts Center (The OAC) is a nonprofit creative arts and community center for teens in Central Oregon. Our mission is to provide free after-school programming, mentorship, and creative community for teens ages 12–18, especially those who are underserved, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, or experience neurodiversity. In addition to teen programming, the space will include working artist studios and opportunities for the wider community to host mission-aligned workshops and events.
