In this presentation, we will dive into the unknown world of black holes! Although we are still searching for answers to what is going on inside black holes, there is much about them that we DO know. Covered in this talk are how they were discovered, the types of black holes and how they form, how they are identified, and what happens around a black hole. We will conclude by looking at the exciting mysteries remaining to be uncovered.
About the Presenter:
Isa Slavin is an astronomy educator originally from Houston, TX. In 2025, they graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with their Bachelor of Science and Arts in Astronomy. There, they researched Galactic nucleosynthesis, stellar evolution, and modern methods of astronomy outreach. In their role as Observatory Specialist for the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory, they share their passion about and love of the cosmos with everyone!
