Enjoy spring stories with storyteller and teacher, Matthew Friday.
This event is suggested for elementary school-aged children, but open to all. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Central Oregon is blooming with the magic of spring, so it is time to come together and listen to some stories about magic and wonder! Storyteller and local teacher Matthew Friday will tell some traditional magical folk tales from around the world. In this session, the children in the audience will have opportunities to participate as little or as much as they'd like, including being actors in the story! Anyone who loves stories is welcome. You are never too old for a good tale. Some snacks provided.
Matthew James Friday is a writer and teacher from England. He has several degrees from the UK, including being a public school teacher. He has taught K-8 students in schools all around the world. He met his Bend-born wife Jill in Germany! Matthew is also a professional storyteller for children. As a storyteller, he has visited schools on three different continents. He developed an interactive model of storytelling that can be used in classroom teaching and to inspire students to become storytellers. Since arriving in the US at the height of the COVID pandemic, Matthew has become a father, run half-marathons, learned to drive a car for the first time, and had two books published! He now lives with his wife and daughter in Bend, Oregon.
