Explore how filmmakers innovate and shape the evolution of cinema's language.
Cinema is a language of magic - 24 still frames a second create the illusion of motion and create entire worlds for us to get lost in. But that language has evolved considerably over the years, with some filmmakers not just innovating how to tell a story, but subtly changing the language of film for generations to come. This discussion will focus on the pioneers of filmmaking, not just of the past, but also the ones leading the art form into the future.
Jared Rasic is the film critic for The Source Weekly and is also syndicated in papers across the country. He also programs films for Tin Pan Theater and is the lead shorts programmer for the Bend Film Festival.
