Author William L. Sullivan guides us to the state's prettiest wildflower displays.
Author and hiking guru William L. Sullivan takes us on a slide show tour of the state’s prettiest wildflower displays, with ideas for hikes and tips on identifying the flowers. Sullivan has hiked every trail he could find in Oregon, and has written a series of comprehensive “100 Hikes” guides that covers them all. His wildflower presentation, however, is based largely on his just-released full-color guidebook, 50 Hikes: Central Oregon, featuring trails in the Bend/Sisters/Sunriver/Redmond area.
Sullivan is the author of 24 books about history, mystery, and adventure. Among his latest are Exploring Oregon’s History and The Ship in the Ice, a historical novel about the Viking Age. His journal of a 1000-mile hike across Oregon, Listening for Coyote, was chosen by the Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission as one of Oregon's 100 most significant books.
