Explore volcanoes, earthquakes and more with hands-on activities!
This program is recommended for children ages 6-12, and all children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Join the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory as we explore geology! Together we will learn all about rocks, volcanoes, and fossils. First, we will discover how rocks form and the different categories of rocks. Then we will learn about the explosive history of this area as we make our own volcanoes and see what rocks are formed from lava. Lastly, we will put our engineering skills to the test as we learn about earthquakes and make our own earthquake-proof structures!
The mission of Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory is to inspire present and future generations to cherish and understand our natural world.
