Enjoy upbeat, live music courtesy of the Baduku and Bahuru marimba bands!
Based in Richland, WA, Baduku and Bahuru are middle school and high school audition-only marimba bands directed by Walt Hampton. They play a variety of original works and cover music that range from native cultural pieces to 80’s rock classics. These bands have performed all over the country, including being special guests at the National Music Educator’s Convention for multiple years. They play regionally throughout the school year and tour nationally over the summer as opportunities allow.
Baduku and Bahuru are both a part of the Tri-City Steel Drum Band Association (TCSBA). TCSBA is a non-profit music education program located in Richland, WA that has been providing youth and musical services to the region for over 25 years. TCSBA has two musical divisions: the steel drum bands and the marimba bands. TCSBA bands have played all over the nation, bringing their one-of-a-kind style to diverse audiences throughout the country.
