Discuss Fresh Start by Gale Galligan

Seventh grader Ollie Herisson's dad is a diplomat, so their family is always moving for his job. Ollie has already lived in France, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, and Germany, and now she and her family are heading to the United States. Ollie doesn't care that her peers think it's weird that she pretends to live in an imagined anime world, and she doesn't think much about it if she does something embarrassing because she knows before long, her family will move on to the next place. But when her parents suddenly announce their plans to stay in Virginia for the foreseeable future so Ollie and her sister, Cat, can finish grade school in one place, Ollie faces the challenge of making real long-term friendships for the first time. In addition, she struggles with her mother's expectations of being a proper Thai daughter and the growing tensions between her parents and her sister.
