Lawyer in the Library

Free 30-minute virtual consultations with a local lawyer on Oregon civil law issues.

Lawyers are able to help with Oregon civil-law questions including family law (divorce and custody), employment, housing, estate planning and more. They are unable to help with criminal-law questions, questions about laws in other states, nor questions about federal laws. 

Lawyers volunteer their time and may or may not be an expert in your area of need. You can expect general information, ideas for next steps and referrals to other resources that might help. You will not receive specific advice about your situation, nor ongoing representation. 

We run a pooled appointment system. Registrants must log in at 5pm to claim an appointment, which can be anytime between 5:30 and 8pm. For more information and to register, email: lawlibrary@deschuteslibrary.org or call: 541-617-7057.

Appointments are held virtually through Zoom and can be accessed from a computer, tablet, smartphone or landline.
