Kindermusik Playdate

2023-05-21 10:30:00 2023-05-21 11:30:00 America/Los_Angeles Kindermusik Playdate This musical playdate with Cascade School of Music includes singing, movement and instrument play. This is an in-person program. Cascade School of Music is a nonprofit music school in Bend that utilizes the Kindermusik curriculum for ages 1 through 5 years old. Kindermusik is an internationally acclaimed program for early childhood music. Led by our certified educators, Kindermusik's research-based programs enhance a child's development and instill a lifelong love of music. Children will learn and grow through activities that stimulate brain growth, build motor skills, enhance social-emotional development, and much more. A trained, licensed Kindermusik educator seamlessly guides the class from one activity to the next and helps caregivers understand their child's learning and development. Kindermusik Educator: Amy James Music has always been an active part of Amy James? life in and out of the classroom. Growing up surrounded by music, ?Miss Amy?, as she is affectionately called by her students and families, experienced first-hand the joy and learning music brings. As a grade school teacher, Amy used music in the classroom to create a beneficial learning environment, aiding in daily transitions and as a helpful tool for teaching subjects such as history, math and grammar. In 2005, Amy became a licensed Kindermusik educator and opened a Kindermusik studio which educated more than 200 Central Oregon parents and children on the role music plays in the early development of every child, and its many joys. In 2011, she brought her successful program to Cascade School of Music with the hope of reaching more parents and children in the community. In addition to teaching classes within Central Oregon, she also developed and wrote new curriculum for Kindermusik International?s global school program, ABC Music & Me. Amy holds a master?s degree in teaching from George Fox University as well as a bachelor?s degree in Communication Arts. Miss Amy is dedicated to educating parents and teachers on the importance of music for their young children as well as creating a fun, safe and supportive environment for young families to grow and learn. Kindermusik Educator: Amy Conklin Amy Conklin has been taking piano lessons since she was 6 years old and has taught private piano lessons since 2014. Throughout high school, she studied under Peter Brownlee in Bend, OR. During this time, Amy completed the 10 levels of OMTA Syllabus as well as participated in many competitions and festivals in the area. Amy went on to study Music Education at Pensacola Christian College under the direction of Artist in Residence Mrs. Daisy Jaff?. Amy has also studied voice and had the opportunity to travel across the country performing with a vocal quartet. Having completed her bachelor's degree in May 2016, Amy returned to beautiful central Oregon to share her love of music with aspiring musicians and offers piano, ukulele, and voice lessons. In 2020, Amy developed a passion for the Kindermusik program and became a certified Kindermusik Educator. She feels so fortunate to be able to help bring such an incredible program to the community. *cr* Downtown Bend Library - Community Room (Brooks)
