Know Gathering - Holiday in a Jar
Wednesday, December 13
1:30pm - 2:30pm
La Pine Library
Community RoomCome mix up healthy gift recipes in a jar! This is an in-person program. Registration is required. This workshop is intended for children ages 6 and up, and all children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Create two food mixes in a jar to expand your gift-giving dollars! Participants are invited to make two inexpensive recipe gifts for this holiday season. We will learn about cooking and measurements, and create a ready-made cornbread mix and a chili mix to take home. Attendees can decorate the jars for a fabulous gift, and we will have a chance to taste the healthy chili and cornbread. This program is provided by OSU Extension Family and Community Health. OSU Extension Family and Community Health is a statewide program that works to promote healthy communities, families, and individuals through community partnerships. Katie Ahern, Senior Instructor II, has worked with OSU Extension Service Family and Community Health/SNAP-Ed for over thirteen years. In her current capacity, Katie manages Education Program Assistants, volunteers, and interns to deliver nutrition education and implement policy, systems, and environmental changes with community partners. *cr* *Elsa*
