A monthly book club for youth ages 10-14. October's selection is Heartstopper, Volume 1 by Alice Oseman! About the book: Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. Shy and softhearted Charlie Spring sits next to rugby player Nick Nelson in class one morning. A warm and intimate friendship follows, and that soon develops into something more for Charlie, who doesn't think he has a chance. But Nick is struggling with feelings of his own, and as the two grow closer and take on the ups and downs of high school, they come to understand the surprising and delightful ways in which love works. Physical copies of the book can be picked up from the front desk of the Downtown Bend library. These books do not have to be checked out with a library card; we simply ask that you return the book at our meeting or in the book drop when you are done reading. Downloadable eBooks and audiobooks can be accessed using your library card through both Hoopla and Libby. Prism Book Club is a monthly book club for middle school aged kids in Central Oregon. We read middle grade fiction that centers the stories and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community, but encourage anyone interested to join. Our book club meets the second Saturday of the month from 1pm to 2pm at the Downtown Bend library.
