Enjoy music courtesy of the Lumina Flute Trio and the Central Oregon Symphony. This is an in-person program. Doors open at 12:30 PM. The Lumina Flute Trio performs a diverse range of advanced flute repertoire. They play in Bend at First Friday Art Walks, throughout Central Oregon with the Central Oregon Symphony?s Music in Public Places program, and at many other area venues. The name ?Lumina?, meaning ?to illuminate?, derives from the group?s flute head joints, which are all Powell Lumina aurumite models. Sue Steiger is principal flutist with the Central Oregon Symphony. She has been a member of the Cascade Winds Symphonic Band since 2012. Ryan Zwahlen currently holds positions with the Central Oregon Symphony, the Santa Cruz Symphony, and the Pacific Chamber Orchestra. Lisa Hakesley studied flute for 8 years with Gail Adams of Danville, IL, with concentration on solo performance. In 2016, Lisa relocated to Redmond, where she joined Bend?s music community as a member of the Cascade Winds, Bend Pops Orchestra, West Winds Chamber Ensemble, and many other small performance groups. Music in Public Places is a program of the Central Oregon Symphony Association. These concerts are held at Central Oregon venues that traditionally are not recognized as being music concert venues. MIPP concerts are designed to offer serendipitous music experiences for the community, free of charge. The Central Oregon Symphony is a community-based orchestra, the success of which is grounded in the tremendous generosity of its members who volunteer their time and talent for the love of orchestral music. The ensemble was formed in 1967 as a part of the expanding Central Oregon Community College Fine Arts Department. *cr*
