Community 3Can extreme political polarization and systemic dysfunction be solved?
American Troubles: A Tale of Two Democracies, is the 2026 documentary that explores whether the United States can cure its extreme political polarization and systemic dysfunction by adopting proportional representation. The 40-minute film draws on human stories, history, and international reform to contrast the US with two case studies, including Northern Ireland and Portland, Oregon. Learn how representation voting systems are reshaping local politics and allowing multiple perspectives to sit at the table. Blending history, reform, and human stories, the film shows how electoral rules can entrench division - or create space for compromise.
