Get practical know-how and inspiration to successfully write kids literature. This is an in-person event. Registration is required. Children?s books are vital to encourage learning for kids; they facilitate relationships with peers, caregivers, teachers and the larger world. This class will help you succeed in your goal of writing for kids. In this class, learn how to flesh out your children book idea, work with an illustrator, choose what publishing option is right for you and market your book. Participants are encouraged to come with children?s book ideas and questions. Published authors who want help on re-releasing or successfully marketing their children?s books are also welcome. Dani Nichols is a journalist, essayist and children?s book author. Her independently published kid's book, Buzz the Not-So-Brave, sold more than 800 copies in its first 20 weeks in print (by contrast, most independent books sell less than 300 copies over their lifetime) and has already placed as a Spur Award Finalist for best children?s book from the Western Writers of America. She is an award-winning writer, a Bend local and a passionate advocate for high-quality kid's literature. *cr*
