Join the anciently familiar practice of singing together! All voices welcome. - This is a non-performance, non-audition group singing event - All voices (including yours) are welcome and wanted exactly as they are - No previous singing experience required. Singing is just slooooow talking! - All songs are taught in a call-and-echo, aural tradition process - We'll sing simple, accessible, harmonies, rounds, layer songs and more Join local songleader Ian Carrick for the anciently familiar practice of singing together - for aliveness amidst despair, for beauty amidst grief, for joy within the cracks in our hearts. Songleader, Ian Carrick, (white, able-bodied, cis-man) strives to "create as welcoming space for everyone regardless of ethnicity, abilities, gender, race, immigration status, class background, politics, or age and am always willing to admit I have room to grow". After a decade of searching for accessible forms of community-based music and recovering his own voice, Ian founded Open Hub Singing in 2016 after discovering a widespread North American cultural revival of aural tradition singing.
