Relax deeply in this movement and sound meditation session.
No prior yoga experience needed. All body types, belief systems, and experience levels welcome. Attendees will be lying down or sitting in a chair.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring what you need to maximize your comfort for sitting/lying on the floor: yoga mat, pillow, blanket, eye mask, etc.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
We'll start with a brief explanation of the healing attributes of the gong and other sound therapy instruments. We open the space with a mantra and then do light movement and breathwork from Kriya Yoga. Everyone will then get comfortable by lying down (preferred) or in another comfortable position for 30-45 minutes to receive the multiple sounds, vibrations, and other resonant tones and frequencies. As we build the sound and intensity of the gongs, we allow the sounds to naturally decay, creating build and release cycles which are deeply therapeutic.
What is Kriya Yoga?
It is a practice of energy yoga where we use dynamic movements, mudras, mantras, tapping, shaking, stretching and breath work to, as Kevin explains, "clear our energy channels and realign oneself to an authentic human experience."
What is a Sound Bath?
"A soundbath is a meditative experience facilitated by the use of gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, chimes, flutes, drums and other instruments to slow down the overactive mind. As the instruments help take us into a predominant Theta brainwave state, we are able to become the witness to the energetics of our mind/body/soul connection. The specific frequencies, harmonics and cosmic sounds help to realign ourselves to a balanced state and help remove stagnations and blockages that keep us from our optimal health. These sounds help to reduce entanglements and distortions our bodies hold on to through the stories and traumas stuck in our body."

About Kevin Kraft:
Kevin is the owner and founder of Soundshala, a unique mindfulness curriculum combining music, breath, movement and meditation to help achieve the mindful benefits of a sound yoga practice. This is evident in the soundscape of voice, gongs, flutes, crystal and Tibetan bowls, drums and other instruments that can help us relax and release deeply into balance. Visit soundshala.com for more information.
Kevin Kraft found his way into the world of yoga by healing a severe back injury in 2004. Yoga did what so many other modalities could not and within a short period of time the injury healed. From the physical practice, Kevin became enamored by the many paths of yoga and personal awareness development. Kevin's practice is focused on consciously accessing the inner teacher and fully coming into the resonance that all healing is accessible within.
