Learn more about the event that helped shape American identity.
The Boston Tea Party protest of December 1773, or what was then called “The Destruction of the Tea,” was one of the crucial events leading to the American Revolution. Of particular interest today is how a protest in costume led to the creation of a nation. COCC history professor Murray Godfrey will discuss how the tea trade, a radical protest movement, subsequent propaganda and responses by Americans and British led to the creation of the United States and one of the key tenets of American identity.
