Discover the secrets of Tumalo Creek!
Registration is required. Registered participants will receive meet-up instructions. This program is intended for children ages 4 - 7. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Join the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council on an exploration of Tumalo Creek at Shevlin Park! We will learn all about what makes a healthy creek, hone our senses while hiking around the stream, and discover the tiny aquatic creatures that live inside this fascinating habitat. Perfect for kids who are curious about the outdoors and the adults that love them.
The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council seeks to educate the next generation of watershed stewards by providing programming and fostering stewardship projects for students ages K - 12. Through observation-based learning, seasonal activities, and tailored curricular materials, the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council helps students discover the intricacies of the water cycle. Hands-on science, math, reading, and creative writing activities allow students to trace the path of a water drop from the headwaters of the Deschutes River, Whychus Creek, Metolius, Tumalo Creek, or the Little Deschutes.
