A workshop with No Matter the Distance author Cindy Baldwin! Space is limited. Registration is required. This workshop is intended for children grades 5-8. Children ages 10 and over may attend without a caregiver. In this writing workshop, author Cindy Baldwin will teach students how to use the three parts of a story (beginning, middle, and end) to create strong, exciting stories of their own - based on the same three-act structure that grown-up authors study! After she has shared the secret things every beginning, middle, and end need, she will work with participants to put principles into practice and build a collaborative story. Part of the workshop will also be allotted for students to begin their own three-part stories, including a few minutes at the end for any students who wish to share what they?ve written. Cindy Baldwin is the author of No Matter the Distance, a Junior Library Guild selection and this year?s A Novel Idea Youth Edition selection. She has also written the critically acclaimed novels Where the Watermelons Grow (an Oregon Spirit Book Award Honor, Indies Introduce title, and Indie Next selection), Beginners Welcome, and The Stars of Whistling Ridge. She lives just outside Portland, Oregon, with her husband and daughter. *Elsa* *Cr* *yani* *ani*
